DESTINATIONS

Argentina

Being the second largest country in South America, Argentina provides an undescriptable range of biomes and habitats. From valleys to mountain ranges, from deserts to wetlands and all in between, here we show you some of the places we visit in an unforgettable.

Misiones´s jungle

The atlantic forest

Trees as tall as the eye can see. Monkeys, insects and birds shouting and singing in the background. Red dirt, full of minerals and the base for the most diverse ecosystem in the world.

As far as reptile and amphibians go, Misiones is one of the most diverse province. With 10 species of vipers (Bothrops and Crotalus), 7 coral species (Micrurus) and a wide variety of colubrids, snakes are one of the main attraction of the tour. More of a frog fan? Don´t worry, the jungle´s humidity and temperature allows MIsiones to be the province with the most amphibian species. You just cant miss them!

Pampa de Achala

A mountain´s grassland

In central Cordoba, close to the center of the country, there is a mountain range called "Altas cumbres". Within this rocky habitat, Pampa de Achala compromises grassland and temporary ponds. Combine all of this and you get an area full of endemic species, with a surprisingly high number of reptiles and amphibians

Vipers, lizards, toads and many more herps await! The Patagonian Lancehead, Achala´s copper Lizard and Achala´s toad strike you with their amazing colors, patterns and morphology. Get ready to flip some rocks!

Iberá

Argentina´s biggest wetland

With thousands of tourists visiting Ibera each year, Corrientes is home to one of our most famous national parks. More than 3.2 million acres full of marshes, wetlands, low forests and an incredible diversity in birds and mammals.

Iberá is a great place to search for our main target: the Yellow Anaconda. Other acuatic snake species, such as Ñacaninas and Leopard Keelbacks, are not that rare. With some vipers, coral snakes and an enormous population of alligators, this is a destination you can´t miss.

Talar

Buenos Aires´s last forest

Due to agriculture, cattle and deforestation, Buenos Aires riverside´s forests are almost depleted. Within the few remaining patches, Punta Indio mantains a good portion of this forgotten biome. Being a UNESCO natural reserve, wildlife and flora thrieves in this protected area.

Herps in this area are abundant. From a wide variety of colorful and distinct colubrid snakes to a handfull of central argentinian frogs and toad, this destination hardly ever dissapoints

Pampa´s grassland

A great look into Central Argentina´s biodiversity

Grasslands make up around half of Buenos Aires biomes. Temporary ponds and lagoons form a great habitat for frogs and snakes of all kinds. While most of this habitat is used for farming and cattle, the preserved portions function as an oasis for herpetofauna.

We´ll be looking for the Urutu Pit viper, the white and black tegu, the misterious Pac Man frog and other hidden herps in the grasslands
